Architectural needs for service integration

Speaker: Josef Spillner

More and more services are offered over the web and need a good desktop integration. KDE without RSS readers, amaroK without title database access and Konqueror without search functionality would simply be not the same. Ideas are needed for better KDE integration, ranging from standard UI widgets and KIO slaves to privacy implications and information control by the user. The KDE-Edu needs for KNewStuff2 and usage scenarios for the Kung web service invoker will be discussed in this context.

Josef Spillner

Josef has an affinity to network-centric projects and therefore initiated Project Dynvocation, including the support of some concepts in KDE. He enjoys the privilege of being unemployed during aKademy but will start to work as a research assistant in the area of web services as soon as he returns home.
